Metamorphosis

From mountains high to valleys low, Of raging sun to moon's gentle glow. From buds to flowers to seeds, Chasing butterflies, gaily caressing the wind. Take them yet, in yonder fields, A kid once, innocent and lively, Oft dreaming impossible dreams. Then a lad, full of life and poesy, Then, here and beyond, Three waves of decade swept. On that distant hill, butterflies swarm still, Rushing no more, pondering all. Only one, ah! all it takes. Eventide 01 Thlaṭau, 2024

A disparate Trojan War

He was not yet in love when he learned to love, Cupid's arrow pierced his heart. Its strike, though, not a blessing from above, But for him a new journey it did start. Seven, a decade and cupid's arrow for the boi, From the Aegean Sea did arrive, his queen. In her beauty he drowned and lost his ploy, And Mycenae came to reclaim her queen. Her pulchritude beauty, his beloved treasure, Belle of the ball in his courtyard, yet his doom. For he loved her head over heels, beyond measure, But his radiant flower will never bloom.  Helena died as battle ensued, Paris wailed, he had lost his queen. He lost his queen, but won the feud, As he weeps and mourns her demise: "The queen is dead, long live the queen.” Eventide 14 Thlavul, 2024
