Co-ordinate Bond


I thought this bond wasn't a coordinate bond,

Yet you only gave me your unused electrons;

Ignorant I was, happy being the receptor,

Only to change the shape of the bond?


The lone pair wanted to bond,

Dipolar hence, with the density shift of the electrons;

My sincere apologies, I'm the interceptor,

And this bond is also a dative bond. 


How I wish this were an ionic bond!

Or a covalent bond, maybe;

Too bad I fell for the red cheeked blonde,

Perhaps my sight was a little too hazy. 


I'll fly around insearch of other atoms,

Unstable though, I'll attain the stable configuration;

Maybe heaven will choose one at random,

Yes! I'll attain the stable electronic configuration.
