Un parterre

She's a flowerbed, my little sweetheart

She blooms in every colour, in every shade

Ah! There my day begins and there it ends

Where in her arms I fall into deep slumber

No promises though, till heaven do us apart

Her blooming soul, for me was made

As for this troubled heart, softly she mends

Repairing the leaks, like a plumber

We'll walk down the aisle one fine day

Not just as friends but as husband and wife

After our vows before God and man will say

Together, to face the challenges of this life

Two thousand miles will just be a breath away

No more to part, walking side by side

No cheque could the colour of my life pay

Cause I've got a flowerbed just by my side

Eventide
